  • What Are Powder Brows?
Powder Brows is a permanent makeup service. Please read the FAQs and Policies pages before booking. Powder Brows are created by using a tattoo machine to create powdery, pixelated brow that resembles a filled in makeup look. The front of the brow is lightest, gradually getting darker towards the tail (hence the term "ombre"). Powder brows are recommended for clients with normal to oily skin, mature skin, and sensitive skin. This service also works best for clients with hair loss (Alopecia, Trichotillomania, etc.).
  • Who CANNOT have Microblading/Powder Shading Done?
You CANNOT have Microblading/Saline Removal done if you: - Are pregnant or breastfeeding - Currently using Accutane, or have used it within 12 months - Are using blood-thinning medication - Have rosacea on your face - Currently undergoing cancer treatment, chemo, radiation, etc. (Must have last treatment be AT LEAST 6 months before permanent makeup procedure) - Have had Botox/fillers done less than 30 days before appointment - Have had your brows waxed 3-5 days before your appointment - Are using/have used antibiotics less than 30 day before appointment - Have any cold/flu/respiratory illnesses or symptoms including Covid-19 - Have used a chemical peel/laser less than 30 days before appointment
  • What Factors Can Affect The Healing Process?
Oily Skin: Excessive oil production can cause microblading strokes to heal lighter and blurry. Sun Exposure: Increased sun exposure before or after the appointment can lead to premature fading. Sweating: Sweating and soaking the brows will lead to premature healing and wet scabs, which will pull the pigment form the skin and result in faded and patchy brows Vitamins: Vitamin C, Garlic, Chamomile, Fish Oil, Hair Growth Serums/Supplements, Antioxidants, Ginger, and Ginkgo can cause blood thinning and increased oil production. Blood Thinning/Excessive Bleeding: Excessive bleeding will affect how your body retains the pigment. Avoid blood thinning medications, as well as caffeine and alcohol to prevent excessive bleeding. Caffeine/Alcohol: These can result in excessive bleeding as well as hypersensitivity to pain. Avoid these both at least 24 hours before your appointment.
  • Should I Wax Or Trim My Brows Before My Appointment?
No it is not recommended. Existing brow hair is crucial to the mapping and outlining process. We work with the natural brow hair, and Powder Brows are used to enhance what brows you may already have! We believe in working with the brow, not against it!
  • What Is Saline Removal?
Saline Removal is the process of removing previous microblading/powder shading/tattoos via Li-FT, a safe, vegan saline solution. Pigment is removed via tattoo machine, similar to how the brows or tattoos were originally done. It is NOT done with a laser, and I numb both before and during the procedure. The pigment is drawn out of the skin via osmosis: the water in the skin cells is attracted to the highly concnetrated saline being introduced to the skin. The pigment is pushed upward and forms a scab. once the scabs heal, the pigment leaves with it. This is why it may take multiple treatments: pigment saturation and depth of pigment vary from person to person.
  • How Many Sessions Will It Take?
Honestly, it varies from person to person. Minimum is 2-3 treatments, but depending on the saturation and depth level of the pigment, it could take up to 10. Any tattoo removal process is a commitment, and it will take time. BUT, the results are so worth it. The end goal of removal is to completely lighten the pigment, or lighten it enough that new and better powder/ombre brows or tattoo cover up can be done over the old work. The lighter you want it, the more sessions it will take.
  • Saline Removal vs. Laser Removal
In some cases, Saline is faster, more effective, safer, less traumatic and relatively pain-free compared to laser removal. Laser targets colors (not pigment), leaves scar tissue, can result in hair loss, is incredibly painful and time consuming. Saline, however, is organic, mostly pain-free (I numb throughout), targets pigment instead of color, and it actually removes the ink by bringing it to the surface, instead of letting old pigment circulate around the body and pushing pigment deeper in. After saline removal, you CAN get your brows done again or get a cover-up if you wish. Not everyone is a candidate for Saline Removal, just as not everyone is a candidate for Laser Removal! this is why I offer free virtual consultations to get an idea of your removal goals and skin health.
  • What Is The Healing Process Like?
The removal healing process is similar to regular tattoo/permanent makeup healing! However, it may be a little more intense. Scabs will form and be darker, but this is a good thing! That means the pigment is responding and lifting itself out. Do not peel the scabs and DO NOT GET THEM WET! Once the scabs have fallen off, the skin underneath may look a bit pink and raw, but this is normal and the skin should return to its normal tone after a couple weeks. Healing Schedule Is As Follows: Day 1: Removal area will be red, and possibly rashy-looking Days 2-10: Removal area will scab. Scabs will be darker than original brow or tattoo scabs. This is normal & healthy! Days 10-14: Scabs will fall off naturally. Do not pick them! Keep scabs as dry as possible. Once the scabs have all fallen off, use Vitamin E oil & SPF until your next appointment 8 weeks later. *Of there is any burning, oozing or puss, please contact a healthcare provider
  • What Does The Aftercare Look Like For Removal?
CLEAN & DRY! Clean. And. DRY! Keep the area as clean and dry as possible. This allows the scabs to safely form and fall off when ready! With removal, scabbing is your friend! Too much water will reverse the effects of osmosis and pigment will remain in skin. AVOID: Sweating, saunas, steam rooms, gyms, swimming, jacuzzis, and exercise. Your removal is an investment! After the scabs have fallen off around days 1-14, then you need to use Vitamin E oil and SPF to ensure the skin regenerates nicely before your next removal appointment.
  • Who CANNOT Have Removal Done?
Same as microblading or tattooing, you CANNOT have removal done if you: - Are pregnant or breastfeeding - Currently using Accutane, or have used it within 12 months - Are using blood-thinning medication - Have rosacea on your face - Currently undergoing cancer treatment, chemo, radiation, etc. (Must have last treatment be AT LEAST 6 months before microblading procedure) - Have had Botox/fillers done less than 30 days before appointment - Are using/have used antibiotics less than 30 day before appointment - Have any cold/flu/respiratory illnesses or symptoms incluidng Covid-19 - Have used a chemical peel/laser less than 30 days before appointment - Have been waxed 3-5 days prior to your appointment
